Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche led the sessions, which covered Maxwell’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein and her knowledge of figures linked to him. Officials also provided the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with an initial set of records tied to Epstein. The files, described by the panel as numbering in the thousands of pages, included more than 300 pages from Maxwell’s interviews. Police in Nairobi are investigating the cause of a fire that claimed the life of a five-year-old minor. The cause of the fire, which on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, also burnt down property of unknown value is yet to be established. “The body was asleep at the time when the fire broke out at about 4pm on Tuesday,” a police report seen by Nairobi News read in part. Locals worked round the clock and managed to contain the fire when they found the remains of the body in one of the rooms. They said that the County's quick rescue response team did not arrive at the scene in time to help in containing the deadly fire. Currently, police officers and sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating whether the fire was an accident or an arson attack. Couple suspected of killing their child to be arraigned in court

A couple that was nabbed moments after they reported the death of their daughter in their house within Dandora Sub-County will today, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, be arraigned in court. According to the police, the father and mother reported that their six-year-old daughter died due to chest related complications. “They had gone to the station seeking help to take the body to the mortuary on the evening of Jamhuri Day,” Mr Adamson Bungei said. However, regular police officers and sleuths attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who went to the scene to assist the couple suspected that the minor might have been murdered. According to the officers who briefed their bosses, the minor had several marks on her neck and back. This made them suspect that something sinister might have happened to the minor.
