Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche led the sessions, which covered Maxwell’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein and her knowledge of figures linked to him. Officials also provided the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with an initial set of records tied to Epstein. The files, described by the panel as numbering in the thousands of pages, included more than 300 pages from Maxwell’s interviews. Hollywood star Peter Macon to coach Kenyan actors in film masterclass

Kenyan actors will get a chance to interact with Hollywood star Peter Macon when he visits Kenya in September this year. The 'Kingdom of the Planet of Apes' actor will be in Kenya to lead a film and theatre masterclass organised by YORA. The Emmy Award winner portrays Raka in the high-profile science fiction film 'Kingdom of the Planet of Apes', which was released in May this year and has so far grossed $396 million at the box office.Macon has been a professional actor for the past 35 years, and as he prepares to return to Africa for the second time, he says his years as an actor have taught him to take a pragmatic approach to his career. “I have learnt to expect the unexpected which I think is a good thing. It’s good surprise albeit strange when you get called up for roles never knowing quite what type they will be. I think it's kind of just part of my story and my journey,” he says. During his masterclass in Nairobi, Macon is also expected to share knowledge on what it takes to break into Hollywood, and his career journey in Hollywood which he notes hasn’t been easy. Until three years ago, the film star admitted that he had experienced ‘spurt of downtime’ in his career. In a recent interview, the actor who became a hit on Fox’s Sci-fi series ‘The Orville’, says he has found a groove in Hollywood but was quick to admit that it took time to figure out what that was. Commercials, for instance, were a no-go for the imposing Macon, revealing that he was rejected at the auditions 195 times. “Being told no 195 times, you kind of got to listen,” he is quoted. Mali Investigators See Breakthrough in Murder Mystery

Investigations into a string of beheadings in southern Mali that have shocked the Sahel nation have scored a breakthrough, judicial and police sources said on Monday. Ten people in the cotton-growing town of Fana have been decapitated since 2018, sparking fears of ritual killings. “We have arrested the main suspect,” local prosecutor Boubacar Moussa Diarra told AFP by phone. He is a 42-year-old unemployed Malian man with no fixed address, he said. “The details he gave of the crimes correspond to the nature of the murders,” he said. Google staff protest company’s $1.2b contract with Israel

Dozens of Google employees in New York and California held demonstrations and sit-in protests on Tuesday (April 16) to voice their objections against the company's billion-dollar contract with Israel. Google staff were demanding that their company drop its $1.2-billion multi-year project named Project Nimbus which provides cloud and AI services to Israel's government and defence ministry. Google shares the contract with Amazon, another tech company. Tuesday's protests were organised by a group called No Tech for Apartheid, which alleges that Project Nimbus is aiding Israel in its military operations in Gaza. On the X platform late Tuesday, the group said Google had ordered the arrest of several workers who staged sit-ins at Google offices.
