Kisumu Senator: I Don’t Regret Working with Ruto

Kisumu Senator Prof Tom Ojienda says he does not regret working with the government of the day.

Ojienda maintains that he won’t be cowed or stopped from working with the government to push for development projects to his constituents.

According to the Senior Counsel, his cordial working relationship with the Kenya Kwanza government was aimed at good.

“When the government does it right, it is right, when it’s wrong, we will point it out so that we can ensure effective management of the country and its scarce resources within the law,” Ojienda said.

“The question of legitimacy is an afterthought and is now out of order. The President passed through all the legal and/or legit processes to become President,” he said.

Senator Ojienda said that the current talks or questions about the legitimacy of  President Ruto  in office are mere philosophical or political questions.

“They are not legitimate ab initio,” declared Ojienda.

Ojienda says his decision to work with the government was informed by the needs of their electorates and that he had “no ill political motive or sinister idea.”

The Kisumu Senator was among ODM legislators who visited President Ruto at State House weeks ago

ODM has since initiated a process to expel the nine legislators.
