57 deaths have been reported in the Brazil’s southeastern Sao Paulo state after floods rummaged through the area on Friday.
The massive rainfall experienced caused landslides and flooded the coastal towns of Brazil’s richest state, with Sao Sebastiao affected the most.
A statement released by the Sao Paulo state government warned citizens to expect more rain come Friday, forcing over 4,000 people to evacuate their home as the search for missing people continued.
The local government also called on tourists not to travel to cities in the region in order to avoid overloading hospitals, roads and water and food supplies.

It added it was conducting control measures to avoid abusive charges in food, water, fuel and other supplies on the coast.
The country provided a navy ship with landing vehicles, hospital beds and equipment to serve as an emergency field.
Regional Development Minister Waldez Goes said Friday that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva had ordered him to maintain dialogue with local officials and ensure services are being provided to the affected population.
