Gen Z’s approach to dating: Falling for superficial charm

Image
Many parents often caution their daughters about the risks of getting involved in a relationship with a man who does not have their best interests at heart. Despite this advice, it appears that women occasionally let their guard down, especially when approached by men who are willing to shower them with cash. In the past, many millennials carefully evaluated potential partners, especially if their lifestyles were markedly different, before making any decisions about dating, many consulted their parents and did their homework before any commitment. However, the GenZ seems to approach dating with less caution. This relaxed attitude has led many GenZs into complex situations with multiple partners, all in the pursuit of love. While millennials often questioned the intentions of those who pursued them and sought advice from their parents, many GenZ do not question the motives of potential partners, they fall head over heels without hesitation. They may become enamored with someone, partic...

Former PS Cleared Over Wife Beating

A Nairobi Court on Wednesday, October 11 acquitted former water and sanitation Principal Secretary – PS Julius Korir after he was dragged to court over wife beating.  In her ruling, Milimani law Court Magistrate Dolphina Ogola noted that the prosecution had failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Korir indeed assaulted his wife, Evelyn Koech in 2020. The court further acknowledged that the complainant did not allow the law enforcers to do their work, adding that the prosecution witnesses did not seem independent. Furthermore, the court ruled that the investigating officers seemed to be acting on instructions from Evelyn instead of acting independently. Former PS Julius Korir at a past event. PHOTO/Courtesy. ODM Warns Ruto Over Haiti Mission, Raises Six Key Concerns

Image
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has pronounced itself on the planned deployment of police officers in Haiti. In a statement on Thursday, the party voiced its concerns about the plan describing it as an ill-advised and opportunistic move.  The Party maintained that whilst acknowledging Haiti’s significance as the first black African country to gain independence from colonial masters, it holds little strategic value to Kenya. In the statement, ODM argued that Haiti is miles away from Kenya and as such its internal affairs do not pose a direct threat to Kenya’s security. Further, the Party questioned the thinking behind picking the National Police Service to take part in the proposed mission instead of the Kenya Defense Forces.  ODM Secretary General and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna addresses a media briefing at Parliament Buildings. photo/courtesy As per the party, the role of the Police is strictly dealing with internal threats to security and have no mand...
